One of many famous quotes by the late Enzo Ferrari, the first race of the SSRI GT3 season takes place at Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as Imola. It is one of the few major international circuits to run in an anti-clockwise direction. The circuit is named after Ferrari’s late founder Enzo and his son Dino Ferrari.
The first race of the SSRI GT3 series takes place at the famous Italian circuit, loved by many, hated by few. A lap around Imola is 4.909 km, and the average GT3 car roughly 1:41.xxx, however on the practice server we saw time of 1:40.xxx being driven. So our expectations for the qualifying where high. And the drivers didn’t fail to deliver, check out Robbie Stapleford’s 1:40.227 pole position lap:
This year we had an overwhelming interest in this years GT3 season, therefore we are running 2 tiers. All drivers have completed the so called “Pre season test”, where they have driven 12 laps, the outlap, 10 laps at race pace and the inlap. From this the average laptime was taken to determine which class the drivers should be placed in. Seeing it’s more fun driving against equally talented drivers then to be lapped (multiple times) by an “Alien”. For those not familiar with the term, Alien’s are drivers that have out of this world pace and are extremely fast and consistent around the track. Below you find the entry lists for this years season.
We aim to organise a livestream for both Tiers, unfortunately due to some technical difficulties with the broadcasting systems of one of our volunteers this week we are only livestreaming the Tier 1 race. The full replay can be found below:
